I. DAILY CLASS MATERIALS
· Students are expected to bring materials to class.
· Materials include covered text, practice and grammar books, paper, pen/pencil and notebook.
· Students are expected to keep a record of all graded materials in their classroom folders.

II. CLASS RECITATION
· Class requirements include participation, homework and evaluations.
· Students are expected to use Spanish in the classroom.  They will be graded on their
   use of  Spanish.

III. NOTEBOOK
· Students are required to keep a notebook that contains only language class materials.
· The notebook should include vocabulary, grammar notes, assignments and verb charts.

IV. HOMEWORK
· Homework assignments are expected to be neat and complete.
· Assignments should include the activity,  page and date.  They should be organized in a notebook.
· Homework will be checked and graded and will be accepted late only with an excused absence.
· When students are absent they are expected to check with another student or contact me at my e-mail address at jschuler@cbsd.org or check E-Notes II  for the daily assignment.
· Late arrival or missing class does NOT excuse you from assignments. When you are in school  you are expected to see me
  or contact another student in the class for assignments.

V. QUIZZES AND TESTS
· Students are expected to be prepared for quizzes and tests.  All evaluations are based on the total number of points possible.
· If a student is absent for a quiz or test the makeup quiz /test must be taken before or after school within a one-week period.
  Failure to makeup work will result in a zero for the particular assignment.

VI. GRADING SYSTEM
· The marking period grade is based on the total number of possible points. The total possible
   points are a combination of homework assignments, quizzes, tests, class activities, class
   participation, the use of Spanish  and oral  evaluations.
· Each student is required to complete certain specific projects during the course.
· Extra credit projects/papers are NOT available in this course.
· All work submitted is to be the student’s original work.  Students will receive a zero for any
  work that is not their own or that is plagiarized.
· There is a final exam that is 20% of the final grade for the course.
 

VII. GRADING SCALE
The grading scale is based on the following:
 

A   = 93% - 100 % B+  = 87% - 89% C+ = 77% - 79% D+  = 67% - 69%
A-  = 90% - 92% B    = 83% - 86%  C   = 73% - 76% D    = 63% - 66%
  B-   = 80% - 82% C-  = 70% – 72%  D-   = 60% - 62%
      F     -   0% - 59%
